The Find Referrals window displays the calls referred to an individual provider, as well as the referrals provided to an individual caller, depending on your search criteria. The default information provided includes date, referral number, client’s name, client type (“Special Code”), provider’s name, and any custom search criteria.
Note: You can specify what displays on the Find Referrals window on the Referral Advanced Setup window. See To set advanced options for more information.
You can open the Find Referrals window one of two ways:
■ From Referrals, select Manage referrals, and click Find.
■ When entering or editing a referral, press Ctrl+L in any of the name fields (First, M, or Last).

The Find Referrals window scrolls horizontally and vertically. The value in the provider list Maximum field on the Referral Advanced Setup window determines the maximum number of records displayed at one time on the Find Referrals window. A concatenated list of search criteria used for the referral (fields SEARCH_1 through SEARCH_5 in the Referrals table) displays with each record when you scroll to the right.
You can search for specific clients and/or providers by entering a text string in the Client or Provider fields.
When you select the Is a Referral Only option, iMIS displays only those records marked Is a Referral.
According to the criteria you enter in the top-half of the Find Referrals window, iMIS uses the following search logic to find and return a list of applicable referral records:
■ CONTAINS – Add a comma after your search value for the system to use CONTAINS logic. For example, if you enter the beginning character of a search code followed by a comma, all records containing a code beginning with that character will be returned by the search.
■ EQUAL TO – Enter a search value that does not contain a comma for the system to use EQUALS logic (searches for the exact value you entered).
■ OR – Add the percent symbol (%) between values to have the system search using OR logic with a list string field. For example, if the search is A, B, and you want the members returned that have A or B in the field, you will search using A%B.
■ AND – Add a forward slash (/) between values to have the system search using AND search logic with a list string field.
